Gulmarg, Kashmir01
Snow, slopes & fresh air

Gulmarg

Gulmarg is Kashmir's best-known mountain resort, a wide meadow ringed by pine forests and snowy peaks. In winter it is all about snow and skiing; in summer the meadows turn green and open up for walks, golf and pony rides. The Gulmarg Gondola, one of the highest cable cars in the world, runs up towards Apharwat peak.

Shikara rides & old-city charm

Srinagar

Srinagar is the heart of the valley and the base for most Kashmir trips. Glide across Dal Lake on a shikara, spend a night on a traditional houseboat, and walk through the terraced Mughal gardens of Nishat, Shalimar and Chashme Shahi. The old city's markets are the place for pashmina, saffron, dry fruits and handicrafts.
